Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy cam EK-GC100 Starts Rolling Out

How to install Android 4.1.2 Firmware on Galaxy Camera:

Use the following steps to install the Android 4.1.2 or any official firmware to your Galaxy Camera.

Download the firmware from the link above and extract the zip.

Download Odin Firmware flasher program and extract the zip: Odin3-v3.04.zip

Download and install the Samsung USB drivers on your computer if it is not installed: Download

Charge your Galaxy cam to at least 70% of battery level.

Though there are least possibilities that you device data will be deleted, it is still better to backup your contacts, messages, and apps, etc.

Enable USB Debugging on your phone: Settings> designer Options> turn on.

Boot device into Download/Odin mode. considering that your Galaxy cam does not have  physical secrets needed to boot into download mode, you will have utilize ADB (Android Debug Bridge) command for the purpose. download and install the Android SDK on your computer. When it is installed, run the SDK Manager and download Android SDK and platform Tools. When the configuration is complete, type “adb devices“  in the command box and then type “adb reboot download” to boot the device into download Mode.

Open the Odin folder and run the program.

Connect your Galaxy cam  to the computer via USB Cable.

When the Odin detects the device, the ID:COM port will turn green and you will see an “Added!!” message at the box below.

The Odin includes pre-checked “Auto Reboot” and ‘F. Reset Time” options, please do not touch anything else.

Click on the PDA button and select the file with .tar.md5 extension inside the extracted firmware folder and then hit the “Start” button at Odin.

In case, there are three or four data inside the firmware folder, click on PDA and select the file with CODE in its name, click on Phone and select the file with MODEM in its name, finally click on CSC and select the file with CSC in its name. then hit the start button on Odin.

Odin will then start flashing the firmware onto your Galaxy cam and will take a few minutes to complete.

Finally, your device will reboot and it will be upgraded to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

Note that the first boot might take a longer time than it takes normally, so be patient.
